Born and raised in Mesa, Arizona, Charlie became an All-American at the University of New Mexico, where he captured three collegiate victories before turning professional in 2007. His early professional years were spent on the Gateway Tour, where he won seven times and led the 2009 money list, proving he had what it takes to compete with the best.
In 2012, Charlie broke through on the PGA Tour, capturing his first victory at the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic. The win was especially memorable — coming just days after a severe panic attack that sent him to the hospital mid-tournament. His courage to return, compete, and win inspired golfers and fans around the world, making his story one of the most remarkable moments in modern golf.
Over his career, Charlie has achieved 12 professional wins, including his PGA Tour title, and has earned over $3.8 million in career earnings. His best finish in a major came at the 2015 U.S. Open, where he tied for 18th.
